It can be used as part of a hosted monitoring system or in stand-alone SMS mode. The Micro is normally configured for low-powered operation, sleeping to conserve power and with wake intervals defined by the user.
The Micro can be loop powered, or can use a supply such as a solar panel or plug-top supply. The basic model provides a single 4-20mA Analogue Input.
The Micro is typically used to regularly report its status to a SCADA system using GPRS.
For stand-alone monitoring the RTU can be configured via any smart phone using SMS, and can also report status and alarms by SMS. Live updates can be requested by sending a text message to the RTU. The Micro RTU will monitor its input and when any alarm limit is breached a text message alert can be sent.
See also the Micro-SX which includes two Analogue Inputs and three Digital Inputs.
